An Exceptional Blend of Cajun Spices

Bob's Blasting Powder

About us

We're family owned and operated, running our mouths and our business out of Longview, Texas. Our roots are in Midland, Texas and our hearts are scattered around the world.

Bob and Karen Butts co-founded the business in the 1980s while living overseas on assignment for the oil company Bob worked for as an electrical engineer. In the '80s it was impossible to buy Cajun spice blends overseas, so Bob and Karen made their own. Friends and neighbors loved it so much, they started to bottle it and sell it and trade it for beer and brisket.

In 2019, Bob passed away after a long fight against cancer and we took BBP offline for a bit. We're back now and his legacy of making exceptional spice blends continues through his wife Karen, daughters Diana and Lauren and his grandson Cayden.

Our products

BBP is an exceptional blend of Cajun spices. We use high quality ingredients and no MSG. Your spices will arrive to your doorstep in professionally packaged and sealed bottles that have been blended and marinated for over three weeks to give it a smoother, richer taste.

BBP contains salt, black pepper, red pepper, garlic and other spices.

No warranty is either expressed or implied. No nutritional facts are available other than this: it tastes great, so it's gotta be bad for you!

About the dogs

We've always been dog lovers, but these three pups held a special place in our hearts.

KD
Named after KD's barbecue in Midland, TX, KD was a loyal dog who stayed by Bob's side and LOVED to go boating and fishing! You couldn't keep her off the boat if Bob was on it.

Colby
Named after the cheese (Colby-Jack Russell!), Colby was a friendly companion who would rather stay on shore and find a sunny spot of grass to lay in.

Cooper
Named after Cooper's Ole Time Pit BBQ in Llano, TX, Cooper was an athletic and loyal dog. He was smart as whip and we swear he understood what you were saying. Cooper was truly "man's best friend."
